Founding of Aweta
Aweta began with one man and one idea: to help Dutch growers sort their vegetables more accurately. In 1966, Adrianus Wilhelmus Tas built his first mechanical sorting machine in Nootdorp, The Netherlands. That humble start marked the beginning of a breakthrough. With his passion and vision for engineering, Tas laid the foundation for Aweta and pioneered technologies that still set the standard today.

Technological revolution
In the 90s, Aweta made technological progress, taking the industry to a higher level. Use of telecamera's, new roll sorters with weight measurement and the birth of the Calistar. To guarantee further development, innovative power, Aweta attracted external expertise.
1990

Growth in product range
Aweta took the step to other products and regions. The sorting company offered an extra dimension through 3D engineering and internal plus external quality sorting. Aweta developed a plant control system and their packaging branch experienced enormous growth.

Relocation of Aweta
The growth that Aweta is experiencing was not possible at the location in Nootdorp. The company therefore moved to a new, almost energy-neutral building, thanks to heat pumps, solar panels and the absence of a gas connection. A new and sustainable building.
